The Legacy Band

Legacy is a 3-piece band from Whangarei that plays a huge mixture of Blues, Soul, R & B and Funk. Introducing Shilo Barbarich, a phenomenal guitar player-singer-song writer who ignites this power-trio. His influences range from Stevie Ray Vaughn, Joe Bonamassa, Dereck Trucks, John Mayer, William Bell; just to name but a few.

Featuring on Bass guitar, we have Paul Barbarich who is a true musician that knows his craft and how to hold down a solid groove.

Henry Beattie, a “long-time friend” of the Bay of Islands Jazz & Blues Festival is on drums and vocals. Over the years, Henry has featured with Roy Phillips, Bob Denham, Mike Netmen, Fifth Ave, Bunny Walters, Juice on the loose and more recently with The Funky Jandal and the Murray Brothers.

Allan Nicholas also joins The Legacy Band This year.
Allan 1st appeared at The B.O.I Festival in 2016 with The Legacy Band.
Originally from Auckland, Allan was handed his 1st Harmonica at the age of 13. His cousin presented one to Allan with the only instructions being, to “Blow & Suck".
He taught himself to play listening to records of Sonny Terry, John Mayall and Paul Butterfield. Living in Northland, Allan has been a strong member of the “Feedback” Band and rejoins The Legacy Band for the 2019 Festival.

Legacy takes their music seriously – They have recently played in Samoa to help raise funds for Mental Health awareness. Blues festivals where they played with the likes of 2 K, Tony Painting and the Power and Billy T.K. Junior and the Groove Shakers. They also performed at the 2016 Ngapuhi Festival under “Shilo-B and Ta Moko” where they helped release Shilo’s original songs live to Northland. Legacy’s goal is to provide you with pure entertainment that won't be forgotten, and their style of Blues will have you dancing all night long!
