Karen Anderson has been a respected presence in the Queensland music scene for many years, performing in a range of bands and theatrical productions. She is a very versatile vocalist who is able to move easily from incredibly powerful blues deliveries to gentle jazz inflected crooning that can bring a shiver. Her voice will move you and her live performance is inspiring.
Karen has performed at many festivals in Australia including Woodford Folk Festival, Noosa Jazz Festival, Suncoast Fest, Kangaroo Point Jazz and Blues Festival, Heat, Ladies Sing The Blues and Blues Benefit 2 at The Healer.
She has two critically acclaimed solo recordings Fuschia Blue and Three, as well as appearances on compilations cds for The Gympie Muster and The Blues Benefit series. She has lent her voice to backing vocals and solo songs for many other performers’ recordings, including Marc Hunter, Ewan Mackenzie, The Worldly Women project and Tony Mockridge. Her theatrical performances have included shows at the Lyric Theatre (Brisbane) for Toadshow, La Boite Theatre and TN Theatre Company.
This year she will again be accompanied by the brilliant Ewan Mackenzie on guitar.
