Joe Carbery Swingtet

The Joe Carbery Swingtet plays in the style of the small groups of the Swing Era but is firmly in the present - "Classic Contemporary Swing Music."

The lineup is Art Cummins on trumpet & fluegelhorn, Joe Carbery on tenor & soprano saxophones and vocals, Julian Russell on piano, Marty Cullen on bass and Don Hales on drums.

Carol Power is the featured vocalist. She was for many years the singer with the Mike Nettmann Quartet at the THC Hotel, Waitangi. Her expertise in the interpretation of the standards of the Great American Songbook is a joy.

Joe Carbery is a life member of the festival.
