Jan Preston

JAN PRESTON is a piano player, singer, songwriter and composer who is often described as “The Queen of Boogie Piano” and is one of Australia and NZ’s most popular jazz/blues performers.

Originally from Greymouth, but now living in Sydney, Jan plays festivals and concerts throughout Australia, NZ, and Europe, and writes music for films, including her sister Gaylene’s latest feature film, Home By Christmas.

Jan began her life practising classical music up to 6 hours a day, but as a young adult became more engrossed in Jazz/blues, particularly 1920’s boogie piano. She has played shows before international acts Bo Diddley, Harry Manx and Robert Cray, and has won 7 awards for her CDs and filmscores.

Jan has a way of fully engaging the audience in her shows, and her mastery of the boogie woogie, barrelhouse and honky tonk piano style, leaves listeners in raptures. Don’t miss!
